When A Kite Is Not a Kite!

Send Me Soaring is back again - this time in a couple of 3 x 3 cards with not a cloud or kite to be seen!

Have you ever heard of a "kite flower"? Well, here it is! Stamped in Poppy Parade and accented with a brad and ribbon - which are two free products available now from the
Sale-a-bration catalog. The ribbon curls nicely which adds a fun touch to projects.

My favorite stamp in this set is the striped kite which can be colored in with Stampin' Write markers creating a water colored look and makes a nice border.  Keep posted for
some masculine cards made with this same set!

Pool Party Colors

Happy Monday morning!

This  wonderful little stamp set, "Send Me Soaring!, from the Occasions Mini catalog, was the stamp set I chose when asked to design a few projects for InkingEverythingWithBecky (have you checked it out yet?)

Well.... I keep picking it up and creating another card and then another card and then ...   I go to the mailbox and if there isn't a copy of the great magazine Stampin' Up! does just for it's demonstrators and they're showcasing "my" stamp set! So, of course I had to copy one of their cards  just to show you. (the one on the right - cute, huh?)

The other one  - all mine. Everytime I look at this Sweet Shop DSP I think of water so I knew somewhere along the line I had to come up with a little boat to float in it! So here it is along with a few how-to pics. Enjoy!

Here is a close-up! I embossed the full sail with the Adorning Accents Hearts embossing folder and also embossed the "water" with the Adorning Accents Scallop embossing folder. Tuck it into the water and you're done!

To create the "boat" I used the Round Tab punch as shown.

For the sail I used one complete triangle and one half triangle from the Petite Pennants punch.

Soaring with Bling!

Every once in a while it's nice to just do simple (with a tad of bling!) That's what inspired this card and then of course it never hurts to have an extra purse, made from the Pillow Box die cut!
I'm so excited about the brand new Hearts Collection Framelit Die that allows you to cut out many sizes of hearts anywhere on the paper you'd like. Check out the Occasions Mini catalog on the side bar for more information.

I chose the Send Me Soaring stamp set for a blog hop that I was invited to participate in.... keep checking back for more on that. Meantime, I have enjoyed using this set in a number of ways, so stay tuned for ideas on how to take a very simple stamp set and shake it up a little.

Here's a close up of the purse - kind of cute, huh?
