Here's the sneak preview I gave you yesterday, explaining that I would tell the story behind the card, along with a little how-to today.
The great embossing in the lower corner is created using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, which is free with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration!
So, today it is....
When I first saw this saying I thought, "Well, it could be cute for a welcome baby card, I guess."
Then I was creating a card for my Mom, who was diagnosed with ALS in October 2013 and is living with us now.
I wanted a card that she would find upon waking in the morning thanking her for the opportunity to care for her.
Sweet, sweet moments - that's what we're having together.
So thank you, Mom, for sharing your moments with us and for your amazing attitude!
She's such a trooper - never complaining and always so grateful in the middle of suffering from one of the toughest diseases there is. Pretty proud of this Mama!
Here's a recent picture of her and my sister, Kathy, who came to visit at Christmas time.
Kathy has a great scrapbooking store in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada called ScrapandBean. I guess papercrafting is in the genes!
Now, a little how-to.
Using Pool Party card stock, 3-3/4" x 5", I dressed up opposing corners with embossing. The lower right hand I used the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and the upper left I used the flower from Regarding Dahlias heat embossed using White Embossing Powder. I then adhered it to a Whisper White card front angling it a bit for an interesting look. I laid my card on top of the envelope I was going to use (just a standard size) so I made certain that the edges weren't going to extend beyond the confines of the envelope.

I then embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Dahlia again using Pool Party Embossing Powder and angled it the opposite direction, still making sure my completed card size was 4-1/2" x 5-1/2" A little frilly Pool Party ribbon, a "sweet, sweet moments" banner and we're done!

Such a beautiful sentiment! You must have a great relationship to have such a wonderful attitude. You are blessed to have each other.
My mother-in-law had ALS several years ago. We also felt that it was such a blessing to be able to take care of her. What an ugly disease. Our best wishes and prayers go out to your family. Beth Krakowski
