Antiqued Poinsettia Tags

Antiqued Poinsettia Gift Tags
Simple and so elegant - what a great topper to any holiday gift! Poinsettias, from Watercolor Winter, stamped in Early Espresso and sponged with Crumb Cake ink create an antiqued look, especially when accented with the incredible chunky Champagne Stampin' Glitter from Stampin' Up!

The tags were all made using the Apothecary Accents Framelit Die. It has the greatest shapes and each tag can be completely different.

This one uses the smallest framelit from that set. I stamped a poinsettia in the center with Crumb Cake ink, then sponged the edges of the tag using Crumb Cake again.

These two tags are using the larger framelits, and tho' it's hard to tell in these pictures, under the ribbon and tulle is where the wonderful curves of the tag are! See how I created them below.

Here are my tags - all created with the Apothecary Framelits.
They can be created any length by using the method below.

Cut a strip of card stock just a bit narrower than the part of the Framelit you'd like to use.  The top edge goes under the Framelit, the lower edge goes over the top of the Framelit. When using the Big Shot! just roll it passed where you want it cut and back again. Do not go over the lower edge.

And this little Framelit can be cut like this to make the cutest little tag ever!

Snow Much Fun!

I've had this simple card sitting on my desk for a while - time to post!

It's nice to go back to old favorites, isn't it? I haven't posted anything from this set yet this year! Can't believe it! But what a sweet little bird and a simple tree. And take a peek at the great sayings that go with it!

Okay, back to my "studio" to use the other stamps now!

There is hardly a card that can't be made better by part of the card being popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

It's a Frosty Christmas!

You know I love the Perfectly Preserved stamp set that was introduced in the Holiday Catalog.

I love Mason jars, but beyond that, this stamp set can go from fall to winter to spring to summer. Happy Birthdays, recipe cards, gift tags, you name it! It's so versatile and I believe it will be popular for a long time to come.

If it's not part of your stamp collection, consider adding it today! It's available as a bundle which saves you $$'s!

Did you know that you can purchase it online right from home? No dealing with crowds. Nope!

It would also make a great Christmas present for a stamping friend (or to introduce someone to stamping!)

This frosty looking jar is stamped onto Vellum card stock (101856 - pg 160) using Baja Breeze ink and then die cut using the coordinating Canner Set Framelit. I then stamped a snowflake onto it and embossed it with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.

Sending Christmas Wishes

This card was so fun to make and a little different than what I usually do - but I love it!

I began with the Take a Ticket Wheel and stamped it in Versamark on Crumb Cake card stock. It was then embossed with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder.

I wanted the feel of the ticket, without the word ticket in the center, so chose to cover it up with other images - using Joyous Celebration and Make a Mitten stamp sets. I have some great masculine holiday cards coming later this week that use the Joyous Celebration stamp set. Stay tuned for that!

A snowflake from Snowflake Soiree was stamped onto Vellum using Versamark ink and White Stampin' Emboss Powder and then punched out using the Boho Blossoms punch.
I "ticketed" the corners of the card using the 1" Circle Punch, just taking off the corner.
I just like the festive feel of this card and think I'll make some more! How about you?

Happy Birthday, Renee!

Happy Birthday, Renee!

A good friend, in life, in stamping and coffee-ing (my word), celebrated her birthday yesterday.
Wishing you all things happy, Renee, and let's coffee soon! Check out her blog here.

She also had a promotion this birthday week, so congratulations, Renee!

Creating the card was a refreshing break from the fall and holiday colors - I reached into a drawer of paper I've not used in awhile, Birds of a Feather. No birds on this card, tho'. I chose to use a vellum butterfly. I love the lightness the vellum brings and how nicely it picks up the embossing.

The background doilies come from Delicate Doilies Sizzlits. Look how crisp and clean they are!

Happy Thanksgiving! (and homeade carmels)

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you.
May your day be filled with family and friends, great food and thankfulness.
I'm thankful for a wonderful year, a quiet, peaceful home, wonderful family and having dinner at our sons home!  I'm also thankful for each of you who visit my blog, leave comments and create amazing cards!

Sea Salt!
I love sea salt! I love salted carmel mochas, salted brownies, salted carmels and today I even made sea salt kale chips. Not too shabby - but definitely eat them before the carmels!

Homemade Sea Salt Carmels

1/2 c butter
1 c white sugar
1 c brown sugar
1 c corn syrup
1 c sweetened condensed milk
Sea Salt

Line a 9" square baking pan with foil, spray lightly with butter spray.

Combine all ingredients together in a heavy saucepan. Heat until just bubbling. Continue to cook, letting it bubble lightly, stirring occasionally, for six minutes.

Let cool slightly and then pour into prepared  baking dish. Lightly sprinkle with sea salt.

Cool completely, cut into1" x 3" pieces. Wrap each piece in waxed paper.

Bon Appetit!

Evergreen Note Cards

Today I have a few great holiday note cards that would be wonderful to send anyone, but especially the guys. Always need a few of those, right?

I first stamped the pine cones, masked them with Sticky notes and then stamped the evergreen boughs. (Why do I always want to type "everygreen"?)

Also, for the life of me the next two pictures will not lay vertical. Sorry for making you stand on your head to see them!

Watercolor Winter Love Notes

I've used this Watercolor Winter stamp set often but have neglected the pine cones a bit... poinsettias also - but we'll get to them here soon.

So today I have a simple little love note with coordinating envelope.

It's created using Very Vanilla and Tangerine Tango card stock.  The evergreen boughs are stamped in Always Artichoke with an Early Espresso stem.  Pine cones - Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Tangerine Tango.

Now I know pine cones don't come in Tangerine Tango - but in my workshop they do! I just wanted to add a bit of zip to a fall day!

Now.... I hope you have your shopping/wish list ready because here it is! The biggest Stampin' Up! sale ever!

Don't miss the fantastic sale that starts today at Stampin' Up! Select products are 20 - 50% off! Check it out here!

Happy Birthday Holly!

Happy Birthday, Holly!

I just have to take some time to brag a little today as our oldest daughter celebrates her birthday. She's become an incredible Mom, wife and woman and we are so very proud of her!

She's inherited my Grandmother's indomitable spirit - manages to smile and bring a smile to others no matter what the situation. She's got a great sense of humor, a very kind heart and finds opportunity to be a friend when others would never see it. Sounds like I'm a little biased, doesn't it? But it's all true and we love her to the moon and today is her day!

We're miles apart but close in heart and I can always count on her to bring sunshine to my day (hence the yellow ribbon!)

And best of all, we get to spend a week together later this month - can't wait!

She's at the top of my list of "what I'm grateful for" and here's something for you to put at the top of yours!

Get your wish list ready! There's a fantastic sale starting on Monday!

Or join me at my Cider, Cookies & Cards Open House this afternoon and receive an extra 10% off!  Oh, wow! That means up to 60% off!
