Happy Day to You!

It's Friday and I hope it's a happy day for you! I was so pleased when I finished this card - it definitely made my day. Wouldn't it be fun to receive in the mail? I love getting cards and letters... and pictures of the grandkiddos! How about you?

And speaking of grandkids, well, a little bragging time is called for. Two of ours qualified to represent their school in a Spelling Bee this week!

          It's almost Valentine's Day!

Thinking about chalkboarding again.... it's so, so much fun! And easy to do. Actually, it's one technique that is difficult to mess up. Perfect! Just what I need.

 

This card uses a menagerie of stamp sets. The postage stamp embossed on Real Red card stock is from Pretty Postage. I trimmed the edges and popped it up on a Postage Stamp punch.

Celebrate comes from a hostess set, Priority Mail, and has a sweet stamp for pretty much every occasion.

You'll recognize the background label from Everything Eleanor - love that beautiful set! And "especially for you" is from the must-have sentiment set, Especially for You (makes sense)

Hello!

How's this for simple and clean? My favorite way to create a card. I need to explain the colors, tho'. I know Pumpkin Pie is not really a color for a heart - but I guess if you really like pumpkin pie, you could actually say, "I {heart} pumpkin pie!" right?

But, really, it just happens to be the colors of the Merry Monday challenge I created this card for.  When said and done, I thought it made quite a nice masculine card, dressed up with a little silver embossing on the "hello".

Welcome back for another Ten Minute Tuesday!

You know, the day we quickly create two cards in ten minutes for under a dollar.... It's just nice to have a group of cards you can create quickly, inexpensively, and they still look great and present well.

Last week we used Designer Series Paper - this week we'll stamp. I used the flowers from Secret Garden and the squares and rectangles from... hmmm.... recognize them? And where did the black pearls come from?

I chose to create a card for each gender - one flowery, one kinda retro. One portrait, one landscape ... clean and simple. Let's go!

A Secret Garden Card

A Secret Garden....

What a perfect place. A little hide-away filled with flowers and greenery that inspires renewal. I hope you have a place like that to retreat to once in a while.

While I don't have a garden, and my place isn't a secret....
I do love to just sit quietly in my "California living room transplanted to my Idaho bonus room". It's white and shabby and peaceful -  it does the trick.
(Actually, the trick is to take the time to spend there.)

 

 There's another Secret Garden and it just happens to be the perfect stamp set for creating 'I'm Thinking of You' cards. Subtle and beautiful in Basic Black and Crumb Cake,it has a light, uplifting feel to it - just what the occasion calls for.
 

The center of the flower was created with Pearls colored black with a Sharpie marker. Easy, easy! The pearls dry fast, but not so much the paper they come on. I hope you have a little more patience with that part than I did so you don't need to create another flower. Drat those black smudges.... couldn't even photoshop them properly!

I created this card and then noticed the challenge over at Paper Players. Perfect timing!
