Happy Mother's Day! card

A few weeks ago I made a card similar (kind of) at a Stamp Club with Becky Roberts - I know, how fortunate am I to have her as my upline! I'm smiling!

So, while waiting for the new catalog, I'm using some papers that were favorites this year. Flirtatious DSP is among those! Have also been thinking of Mother's Day so here's today's card.

Supplies:
Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Flirtatious DSP
Basic Grey ink
Whisper White Taffeta ribbon
Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder
   Friendly Phrases stamp set
Round Tab punch

I created the top of the dress using the Round Tab punch and re-punched it with the rounded side of the punch to create the sides of the bodice.
Skirt: Begin with a 4" x 2" piece of DSP. I scored at 1-3/4" and 2-1/4" to create the  center pleat, then scored 1/4" out from each of those score lines, but at a bit of an angle. Score again 1/2" out from those score lines, then at 1/4" once again at a bit of an angle. Trim sides of dress at an angle. Nothing fancy - just kind of did it as I went and forgot to take pictures. Oops!

I would suggest working from the center out when scoring and then crease alternately front and back as you work towards the edge.

I think this would look great if the hem were trimmed with a bit of lace or tuille.... or something!   Enjoy!

Pool Party Colors

Happy Monday morning!

This  wonderful little stamp set, "Send Me Soaring!, from the Occasions Mini catalog, was the stamp set I chose when asked to design a few projects for InkingEverythingWithBecky (have you checked it out yet?)

Well.... I keep picking it up and creating another card and then another card and then ...   I go to the mailbox and if there isn't a copy of the great magazine Stampin' Up! does just for it's demonstrators and they're showcasing "my" stamp set! So, of course I had to copy one of their cards  just to show you. (the one on the right - cute, huh?)

The other one  - all mine. Everytime I look at this Sweet Shop DSP I think of water so I knew somewhere along the line I had to come up with a little boat to float in it! So here it is along with a few how-to pics. Enjoy!

Here is a close-up! I embossed the full sail with the Adorning Accents Hearts embossing folder and also embossed the "water" with the Adorning Accents Scallop embossing folder. Tuck it into the water and you're done!

To create the "boat" I used the Round Tab punch as shown.

For the sail I used one complete triangle and one half triangle from the Petite Pennants punch.

Happy I Do!

A special card for a very special couple! Congratulations you two!

The "tux" and bodice of the wedding dress were created using the Round Tab punch #119864
For the tux: Using Basic Black c/s, punch only half the punch, slit it in the center and fold both sides back to create the lapels.
For the bodice: Use Whisper White c/s, punch the entire tab and then center the tab back into the punch and punch again to create the neckline.  You only need half the punch but I punched the entire piece so I had something to hold onto while I punched it the second time - then I trimmed it. (Was that enough punch, punch? Wheww!)
The Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder #120175 adds dimension to the dress.
"Happy I Do" is from the wonderful Word Play stamp set # 120651 - I use this set so..... often. It's a great investment.
Flowers are created using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack #118309 - centers are pearls
Flirtatious Specialty DSP #122360 was used with matching textured cardstock Wisteria Wonder

Do you have as many pearls and diamonds floating around your house as I do? Yesterday I found four pearls on the bottom of my flip-flops and diamonds on my daughter's ears!
