Halloween with no stamp sets!

It's getting closer to Halloween and what if you haven't any spooky stamp sets? Well, no problem! Take advantage of the free 30 day trial of My Digital Studio and then purchase the Toxic Framable Digital Designer Template (immediate download) for only $3.95

It will keep you in Halloween cards for a very long time! It comes with numerous images (spooky and not so!) including great sentiments. Use a number of them together like the framed piece shown above or keep it super simple like I did with the two cards below.

To create the rough edges I scored each edge (with a little added pressure!) instead of using the cutting blade. I like it so much more than tearing as it creates a nice tattered straight edge. (Did that make sense?)

I blinged up the banner and added a pearl for the eyes of both the spider and the crow. An added wing (using the Bird Builder punch) adds a little definition to dear old bird. You could just as easily hand cut one.

And once again the Petite Purse Die! This time I cut the flap off and just added circles of Howlstooth & Scaring bone DSP. The banner is also from the Toxic download. All of the projects are super simple - with absolutely no stamping!

Look at all the cool images, background paper and sentiments that come with this download. Print it as it's shown or use each image individually - all for $3.95!

Introducing Mocha Mondays!

M & M Thank You's!
Happy Saturday morning! I hope this autumn weekend is wonderful for you and that the gorgeous weather and beautiful leaves inspire you, as they do me. So gorgeous!

This time of year finds us needing many thank you's.
So today I'd like to share some that I've been creating -
matchbook holders with belly bands that hold....

M&M's! What a fun little thank you! I have quite a few more to make but thought I would share a few with you today.

These can be done for any holiday or occasion. They assemble quickly and will be one of our first projects at "Mocha Monday"!
Mocha Monday is a fun drop-in class where you will create
2 - 3 quick and creative projects in an hour or less. All supplies and pre-cut papers are ready to go! Just a bit of stamping and assembling and you're on your way with new goodies and instructions for creating more!

If you live near Boise, I'd love to have you join us the first Monday of each month at Moxie Java on Eagle Rd.
Contact me for more info @
stampsnsmiles@gmail.com

For this project I used Basic Grey & Tangerine Tango card stock spiced up with Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP.
November's Mocha Monday will showcase holiday papers.

You're Amazing!

You're Amazing!
In the middle of all the "autumness" that surrounds us this time of year, on occasion we still need cards that break away from the leaves and pumpkins to tell someone how awesome they are!

I found this one from one of the make'n'takes I did at convention this year and thought it would be fun to share. I love all the tickets and the additional stamping on the envelope! I'll be showing more with the ticket wheel shortly - it really is great to use on many projects!

The paper piercing around the edges help accent the wonderful Apothecary Framelit. And who would have thought to add a flower and a little bling to a ticket? I love it!

Oh, and the contest for the 100,000 hits? Getting super close!! Leave a comment and be a winner! See yesterdays blog post for details.

One Hundred Thousand hits deserves a contest!

Here are a few of the glassine bags that come in the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit. They are sweet as can be, perfect for lots of occasions and can be lit up using small battery operated candles.

It's contest time!
I was thinking it would be Christmas by the time stampsnsmiles received it's 100,000th hit. But no, it's right around the corner! And to celebrate I will be giving away a Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit along with the Chevron Embossing Folder!

Here's how it works... leave a sincere comment on my blog  and I will randomly select one person who happens to leave a comment on the day that stampsnsmiles receives it's 100,000th hit. Start today because that day could be today!

It's that simple! Here's what will be won:

Little Mummies

Love this little mummy! He's actually stamped on a tag from the  Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit.
This kit is a terrific bargain with:
  • 20 double-sided tags
  • 10 Glassine Treat Bags
  • 50 adhesive backed Googly Eyes
  • 10 pieces of coordinating Baker's Twine

Don't you just love him too? He's part of a new stamp set - Googly Ghouls.
Here's a peek at another card made from that same set. What's Halloween without a witch?

Rather cute for a witch isn't she? She's the perfect little accent for this card.
And if you like little Frankensteins - there's a stamp of him also. This set actually comes as a bundle. See below for more details.

Warm and Toasty!

The first time I saw these mittens I thought "they just belong around a mug of hot cocoa!"
So they finally are and here's the card. Just makes you want to brew up a cup, doesn't it?

Once again I tore the edges of Whisper White card stock and embossed it with Northern Flurry before popping it up on Crumb Cake card stock.

The delightful mug is stamped in Gumball Green with Early Espresso "cocoa" steaming inside!
Real Red mittens embossed with miniature reindeer are accented with Gumball Green Sweater Trim for a cozy feel.

Both stamp sets have coordinating punches to make creating simple.

Now here's something extra fun about this stamp set and punch! How many ways could you use those borders? And look what an amazing person at SU! came up with for the mitten toppers! Turned upside down and embossed and you're ready for spring!

Here' what it took to create this little love note. The leaves are the heart punch cut in half.

Spooky Bingo Bits!

Spooky Bingo Bits!
I decided to use the Bingo Bits as accents to a Halloween card - so many choices, not enough squares! Love how it turned out tho', and nice that you can make this card numerous times and each time it could look a little different.

Love the new Large Pearls! And they finish off the center of a Designer Button perfectly, imagine that!

And every spider needs Googly Eyes - so glad Stampin' Up! has those for us too!

Directions:
  • Basic Black - 5-1/2" square card
  • Tangerine Tango, 5-3/8" square
  • Very Vanilla 5" square
  • Emboss with Spider Web Folder
  • Nine 1-1/4" Basic Black squares
  • Very Vanilla and Howlstooth & Scaringbone 1" squares
  • Stamp and accent as you wish!
